Description

The intermediate surf course is designed to all those who following a short surf experience, have the capacity to get to the line up and ride the wave wall in front side and back side with a soft board in small conditions.
The goals of the course are: to analyze independently the sea forecasts based on significant parameters, to interpret sea conditions independently and to choose accordingly the best place to surf, to learn the theoretical technique of the basic maneuvers: turtle dive, bottom turn, cut back and re-entry, knowledge about surf priority and surf rules and how to behave when you wipe out and to improve your technique with respect to entry level.

Within this course, we form groups up to 6 students per instructor so everyone can receive the necessary attention and can improve faster in a safe way. The course lasts about 3/4 hours including the pick up time from/to your accommodation and the practical part in water will be about 1.5/2 hours with a break between one hour and the next and anyway when necessary. With the aim of speeding up your learning, in case you choose a minimum 5 days package, we also introduce the video analysis for this course because we believe that the visual self-assessment is the most effective method for learning.

Schedule

Below you find the schedule of a classic day with Surfintrip Academy.

The day's schedule is subject to change based on weather and sea conditions and customer needs.

Pick up and Transfer:

The instructors pick up the students at the accommodation for the transfer to the spot where the course will take place.

Briefing:

During the briefing, the instructors make a quick presentation about Surfintrip and they introduce the day’s schedule (sea and weather conditions, surf spot of the day, etc.) and they assign the material for each student (board, leash, wetsuit, lycra e wax).

Development of the course at the spot chosen according to the weather and sea conditions and the level of surfing group:

• Safe briefing and theoretical lesson on the beach;

• General warm up and functional exercises;

• Practical lesson on the beach;

• Entering the water under the supervision of the instructor the students put into practice what has been explained on the beach;

• Break: the duration is about 10-15 minutes and is a good way to rest, recuperate and try to correct mistakes;

• Back in the water: The goal of this phase is to repeat technician movements learned and try to implement the tips;

• Video: a video camera will follow your waves (for all those who books 5 surf lessons or more);

• If you have video of the previous days, you will see them with the instructor through a tablet and analyse the critical issues on which to focus in the next session (this step can also take place the next day);

• End of course: cool-down, stretching and feedback on the course.
